Tutoring proposal template

Thank you for considering me to tutor [student name]. This proposal covers how we will go from where [student] is now to where they want to be in [subject]: a real assessment, a plan with a goal, regular sessions, and honest progress reports along the way.

[Student] is in [year/grade] and working toward [goal: passing [exam], raising a [subject] grade from [X] to [Y], rebuilding confidence after falling behind].

Right now [describe: the gaps are in [topics], homework takes hours, test anxiety undoes the studying]. Success is [the concrete goal], and just as importantly, [student] knowing how to study without me.

1. Phase 1, Assessment. The first session is a low-pressure diagnostic: we find the real gaps (which are often two levels below where the struggle shows) and set the baseline we will measure against.
2. Phase 2, Learning plan. I map the gap between the baseline and [goal] into a week-by-week plan, shared with [student and parent], so everyone knows what we are doing and why.
3. Phase 3, Sessions. We meet [cadence] for [length] minutes [online / in person]. Sessions are active: [student] does the thinking, I coach the method, and we end each one with a small win.
