Course creation proposal template
A complete proposal you can send after filling in the brackets. Copy the text or download the PDF, then make it yours.
Make it yours before sending
- Replace every [bracket] with the client's real details. Search for "[" to catch them all.
- Set real prices in the investment tiers, and cut to one option if tiers do not fit the job.
- Rewrite "Understanding your goals" in the client's own words from your call. It is the section they read closest.
- Delete anything that does not apply. A shorter, true proposal beats a longer, generic one.
Course creation proposal
Course creation proposal prepared for [Client Company]
1. About this proposal
Prepared for [Client Company] by [Your Name], [Date].
Thank you for considering me to build your course. This proposal covers turning what you know into a course people finish: real instructional design, scripts that sound like you, and a build on [platform], with the honest division of labor stated up front: you bring the expertise, I bring the structure.
2. Understanding your goals
[Client] wants to turn [their expertise in X] into [describe: a flagship course, a cohort program, a productized offer] for [audience], priced around [amount].
The material exists as [describe: workshops, calls, a book, your head], and the gap is structure: turning it into modules people complete rather than abandon at lesson three.
3. How I will work
- Phase 1, Curriculum design. I interview you to extract the real method behind your results, then design the curriculum backward from the student's outcome: modules, lessons, and the exercise that proves each lesson landed.
- Phase 2, Scripts and materials. I draft lesson scripts and outlines in your voice from our recorded sessions, plus the workbooks, templates, and checklists that make lessons actionable. You review and approve each module.
- Phase 3, Production support. [I prepare slide decks and shot lists and coach your recording setup / I manage an editor for your recorded footage], keeping production simple enough that it actually happens.
- Phase 4, Platform build. I build the course in [platform]: modules, drip schedule, emails, and checkout, tested end to end with a real student journey before launch.
4. What is included
- A curriculum map designed backward from the student outcome
- Lesson scripts or detailed outlines for [number] modules, in your voice
- Workbooks, templates, and exercises for each module
- Slide decks and recording shot lists [plus editing management]
- The course built and tested in [platform], with drip and onboarding emails
- A launch checklist and a post-launch improvements list from early student data
5. What is not included
- Being the subject-matter expert (the method and claims are yours; I structure and sharpen them)
- Filming (I prepare everything for your recording setup or your videographer)
- Marketing and audience building (launch emails to your existing list are included; acquisition is not)

8. Why work with me
- Designed backward from the student's outcome, because a course is judged by what students can do, not what it covers
- Scripts from recorded interviews in your voice, so the course sounds like you on your best day
- An exercise in every lesson: completion comes from doing, and doing is designed in
9. Terms in plain English
This proposal is valid for [30] days. A deposit of [amount or %] is due to begin, with the balance due [on delivery / per the schedule]. Work outside the scope above is quoted separately before it starts.
The course content, method, and claims are yours, and everything created for the course belongs to you on final payment; my instructional frameworks remain mine. The schedule depends on your availability for interviews, reviews, and recording, and slips day for day when materials or approvals wait. Platform fees are yours, and no enrollment or revenue level is guaranteed: I build the product, and the audience and offer are yours.
10. Getting started
