Marketing proposal
Copywriting proposal template
A complete proposal you can send after filling in the brackets. Copy the text or download the PDF, then make it yours.
Make it yours before sending
- Replace every [bracket] with the client's real details. Search for "[" to catch them all.
- Set real prices in the investment tiers, and cut to one option if tiers do not fit the job.
- Rewrite "Understanding your goals" in the client's own words from your call. It is the section they read closest.
- Delete anything that does not apply. A shorter, true proposal beats a longer, generic one.

1. Overview
Prepared for [Client Company] by [Your Name], [Date].
Thank you for considering me to write for [Client Company]. This proposal sets out what I will write, how I will capture your voice, and the investment, so the words do their job: making your offer clear and moving readers to act.
2. Understanding your goals
[Client Company] needs [describe: website copy that converts, an email sequence, ongoing content] that sounds like you and speaks to [target audience].
The current copy [describe: is unclear, talks about features not benefits, does not sound like the brand]. Success means [clearer messaging and better response].
3. Proposed approach
- Phase 1, Brief and research. You complete a short brief; I review your current copy, competitors, and any customer language, and agree the voice and key messages.
- Phase 2, Draft. I write a first draft focused on one clear message per page or piece, structured to lead the reader to the action.
- Phase 3, Revise. We refine over [2] rounds against the brief, so feedback stays objective rather than a matter of taste.
- Phase 4, Finalize. I deliver clean, final copy laid out clearly for design or direct use.
